Simone Maggio, born in Grosseto/ Italy (1979), he began playing at a young age, taking an interest in jazz and composition. Starting to study them between Rome (St. Louis College of Music) and Siena (Siena Jazz)
After graduating from the Saint Louis College of Music in Rome (2003), he attended numerous seminars with Italian and international musicians, including Stefano Battaglia, Enrico Pieranunzi, Enrico Rava, Jonh Taylor, Paul Motian, Roscoe Mitchell, Antony Braxton.
With his trio he will play in 2006 with saxophonist Lee Konitz. His activity as a pianist is extended to that of composer, collaborating with numerous soundtracks of multimedia and theatrical shows, also collaborating with the Teatro di Roma.
He has recorded various discs with his original projects, in trio and in other formations. He collaborates with the double bass player and composer Federica Michisanti for many years.
He teaches jazz piano and jazz harmony at the Saint Louis College of Music.
