On one hand based upon the mainstream jazz a constructing of a new form. On the other hand - an open approach to the improvisation. The melodious phrases mixed with the non obvious rhythmics. Mathematics and metaphysics. The geometry of water. The Algorhythm band was founded in 2013. From the very beginning of its existence, its creative work binds together different ideas, music trends and personalities. The only changeless determinant of its creative activity is a free artistic expression. While the band’s name it’s a symbolic word - symbol It relates to a concept of algorithm which is commonly used in every area of the contemporary live. So it’s the music of Algorhythm; it reflects everyday emotions and thoughts of modern man.
Emil Miszk. Trumpeter, composer, arranger. Began studying the trumpet in 1998, at the 1st degree Public Music School in Lębork. He finds himself very well on numerous levels, his style being based on a confluence of two energies – adherence to tradition on the one hand, and total freedom on the other. This is the result of working with such artists as Leszek Kułakowski, Sławek Jaskułke, Tymon Tymański and Wojtek Mazolewski. He is a member of numerous groups associated with the tri-city music scene, including the Jan Konop Big Band, Dominik Bukowski Quartet, Piotr Kułakowski’s Critical Level, Michał Bąk’s Quartetto, the Kamil Piotrowicz Sextet and, and the Baroque trumpet quartet Tubicinatores Gedanenses. He is a graduate of the Gdańsk Academy of Music.
Piotr Chęcki. A saxophonist associated with the tri-city music scene, and graduate of the Gdańsk Academy of Music, where he studied under Maciej Sikała. He is a member of the groups Algorhythm, the Chęcki/Zienkowski Quartet, Nene Heroine, theTomasz Chyła Quintet, Michał Bąk’s Quartetto, the Kamil Piotrowicz Sextet, and Sekstans. He received awards for Best Musician at the Krokus Jazz Festival in 2015, and at Jazz Juniors in 2016. He is a winner of numerous competitions, nationally as well as abroad, including the European Jazz Contest, Krokus Jazz Festival, the Blue Note Poznań Competition, the All-Poland Review of the Gdynia Sax Club, and the RCK Pro Jazz Festival in Kołobrzeg. In 2016, he performed at the world’s largest jazz festival, Java Jazz in Indonesia. Musicians he has worked with include Leszek Możdżer, Leszek Kułakowski, Sławek Jaskułke, Jerzy Małek,Wojtek Mazolewski, Dwiki Dharmawan, Tymon Tymański, and Tomasz Sowiński.
Szymon Burnos. Pianist, keyboardist and composer, born in 1991. He is a graduate of the Stanisław Moniuszko Academy of Music in Gdańsk, and is closely tied to the tri-city music scene. He is open to musical experimentation, and received a certificate from the New York School for Improvisational Music. His inclinations and inspirations encompass numerous genres and styles, ranging from free music, through jazz and rock, to electronics. For this reason he performs, records and works with a wide range of artists, including Algorhythm, the Tomasz Chyła Quintet, Tymon and The Transistors, Tymański Yass Ensemble, Nene Heroine, MaJlo, Daniel Hertzov, and The Fruitcakes. He was a winner at the European Jazz Contest in 2013 with the group Algorhythm, and at Jazz Juniors in 2016 with the Tomasz Chyła Quintet.
Krzysztof Słomkowski. Jazz bassist with a wide range of experience on stage, graduate of the F. Chopin Public Music School in Warsaw and the Gdańsk Academy of Music. He realizes his artistic ambitions with groups comprised of younger jazz musicians from the tri-city music scene, including Algorhythm and the Tomasz Chyła Quintet, and is a co-founder of the independent music label Alpaka Records. Besides artistic activity, he also works as a session musician.
Sławek Koryzno. Drummer associated with the tri-city music scene. He is a graduate of the Gdańsk Academy of Music, where he majored in Jazz and Theatrical Music, studying under Tomasz Sowiński. In 2010-2011 he studied under American drummer Michael Lauren, at ESMAE in Porto, Portugal. He is a member of the groups Algorhythm, Jerzy Małek Group, Piotr Lemańczyk Trio, Kamil Piotrowicz Quintet, Jan Konop Big Band, Inner Out, Szymon Łukowski Quartet, and the Tomasz Chyła Quintet. He is a winner of national and international competitions, the most significant of these being Jazz Juniors, the European Jazz Contest, Krokus Jazz Festival, Blue Note Poznań Competition, the All-Poland Review of the Gdynia Sax Club, the RCK Pro Jazz Festival in Kołobrzeg, and the Big Band Festival in Nowy Tomyśl.
Musicians he has worked with include Zbigniew Namysłowski, Leszek Możdżer, Sławek Jaskułke, Leszek Kułakowski, Jerzy Małek, Piotr Lemańczyk, Dominik Bukowski, Maciej Sikała, and Maciej Grzywacz.
He has also participated in workshops with musicians such as Kurt Rosenwinkel, Greg Osby, Nelson Veras, Christian Weidner, Clarence Penn, Seamus Blake, Lage Lund, Ohad Talmor,
